Endangered Species Success Story

Aleutian Geese were one of the first on the new Endangered Species List in the 1970’s with about 800 birds. Today, population estimates are over 70,000.

Potowat Indian Health Village Clinic 

Photographs of buildings often benefit from slanting light. In this case, I knew that late afternoon sunset would highlight the view of the entrance to the new Potowat Indian Health Clinic north of Arcata, California.

The ancient "Capetown Petrolia" gateway sign at the back edge of Ferndale seemed like Father Time bidding farewell to the 20th century, as I set out to photograph the last sunset of 1999 along the Lost Coast of California.
